Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace Protects Sensitive Client Data at Leading Law Firm

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has today announced that a top-tier law firm in Singapore, Shook Lin & Bok LLP, has deployed its self-learning platform for cyber defence. Darktrace’s AI detects emerging cyber-threats on the Firm’s network, enabling it to remediate risks before they escalate into a business crisis.

Shook Lin & Bok LLP is a well-established and trusted legal practice with an extensive client base, servicing banks and financial institutions, regulatory bodies, listed and unlisted corporations, as well as multi-nationals. Quality and service excellence are of utmost importance to the Firm. Any breach of confidential customer information could have serious and unquantifiable repercussions to Shook Lin & Bok LLP’s reputation.

Attempting to fully ring-fence the corporate network and plug every security gap proves futile in the face of subtle, pernicious attacks that routinely bypass legacy security tools. In light of this new reality and increasing reports of cyber-security breaches at other law firms, Shook Lin & Bok LLP decided to deploy Darktrace’s machine learning technology to detect subtle threats and weaknesses on its network.

Protecting our client’s confidential data is of paramount importance. Given the prevalence of never-seen-before attacks and insider threats, we were looking for a technology that can swiftly identify and alert us to anomalies as they emerge, inoculating our network from within,” said Raymond Chiang, IT and Infrastructure Manager at Shook Lin & Bok LLP. “The Enterprise Immune System gives us unparalleled visibility of our digital infrastructure, allowing us to stay one step ahead of potential threats. With Darktrace, we can reassure our clients that their information is fully protected.”
Firms handling a wealth of sensitive data are prime targets for cyber-attackers,” commented Sanjay Aurora, Managing Director, Darktrace in Asia Pacific. “Fast-evolving threats are increasingly outpacing humans and infiltrating networks: fighting back with AI is the only way forward in this fierce cyber arms race. We take pride in enabling Shook Lin & Bok LLP to quickly identify genuine threats, without disrupting day-to-day business, or breaching privacy.”
