Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace, the world’s leading cyber AI company, has today announced that it has won the award for best compliance technology at the 2019 Fortress Cyber Security Awards. This recognition solidifies Darktrace as the foremost solution for helping organizations achieve full compliance within an increasingly stringent and complex regulatory landscape.

The Fortress Cyber Security Awards recognize the leading products that are enabling businesses to keep their data safe in the face of increasingly advanced attacks. A panel of leading CISOs and security professionals selected Darktrace’s AI technology for its pioneering cyber defense and compliance capabilities, which is already relied on by over 3,000 organizations worldwide.

Compliance with regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, and the DFS Cyber Security Regulations adds another dimension to the extensive list of challenges facing security teams. Thanks to its ability to identify and contain threats in seconds, aid in the investigation of attacks, and provide complete visibility of digital activity across the business, Darktrace’s AI enables organizations across all sectors to comply with industry-specific and international regulations – without purchasing additional tools.

As a pathology lab, our sensitive patient data is governed by HIPAA regulations. Cyber security has to be one of our top business priorities,” commented Jimmy Gelhaar, Director of Information Technology at Metropolitan Pathologists. “Darktrace’s ability to take immediate action – at any time of day – to fight back against in-progress threats on our behalf has been invaluable to both our security and compliance efforts.”
