Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has today announced that it has been named on The Wall Street Journal’s inaugural ‘Top 25 Companies to Watch’ list, which identifies emerging leaders in hot corners of the tech industry. Darktrace is the only cyber security company in the top 10 of the prestigious ranking and was selected thanks to its innovation, stellar growth, investor backing, and founders’ success.

Darktrace has experienced rapid growth with revenues increasing by over 600% year-over-year. The company employs 500 staff working across 24 global offices. It has raised over $100 million in funding from investors including Invoke Capital, Talis Capital, Hoxton Ventures, Summit Partners, KKR, TenEleven Ventures, Softbank and Samsung.

In under four years since its inception, Darktrace has established itself as the de facto leader in disruptive AI technology for cyber defense. As stealthy, sophisticated threats become the norm and human security teams are increasingly outstripped in their capacity to contain fast-spreading attacks, Darktrace has seen massive demand for its pioneering technology. Leveraging advances in unsupervised machine learning and probabilistic mathematics, Darktrace’s flagship product, the Enterprise Immune System is the world’s first and only proven AI technology to detect and automatically fight back against cyber-threats in real time.

Unlike traditional defenses that look at past attacks in an attempt to define and preempt future threats, Darktrace protects networks from the inside out. Modeled after the human immune system, the Enterprise Immune System self-learns what is ‘normal’ for a network and uses that understanding to detect and automatically respond to emerging attacks in real time, before they have inflicted damage. Darktrace’s AI technology for cyber defense enables the advent of the first self-defending networks that can inoculate themselves against threats from within.

To be named as the only cyber security company in the top 10 of the Wall Street Journal’s ‘Top 25 Companies to Watch’ list is a testament to the rippling effect our AI technology has had across the industry,” commented Nicole Eagan, CEO, Darktrace. “Our vision for security represents a fundamental step-change from the approaches of the past and has heralded in a new era for cyber defense. As pernicious attacks threaten to erode our trust in both our public and private institutions, Darktrace’s AI technology equips defenders with the tools they need to stay ahead in today’s cyber arms race.”
